Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.
This policy explains how vespaiorestaurant.com ("this site", "we") handles information about visitors. It applies to this website only, and not to any site we link to.
1. Who is responsible
This site is an independent archive operated by an individual publisher. For any privacy question, or to exercise any right described below, write to hello@vespaiorestaurant.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
If you use the contact form, it opens your own email application with the details you typed already filled in. Nothing is submitted to or stored on this website — the message travels through your email provider directly to us. We keep the resulting email correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, requested page, date and time, referring page). These are used for security and to diagnose faults, and are retained for a limited period. We do not attempt to identify individuals from them.
Information stored in your browser
We store one item in your browser's local storage, vespaio_consent_v1, which records whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies. It contains no personal information and lets us avoid asking you again on every page.
3. Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
- Third-party advertising vendors may be listed at Google's certified ad vendor list.
Google's own handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms page for partner sites.
Consent. Where required by law — including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — advertising and analytics storage is set to denied by default using Google Consent Mode v2. Nothing beyond strictly necessary storage is used until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. You can withdraw or change that choice at any time via the link, which also appears in the footer of every page.
4. Analytics
If a privacy-respecting analytics tool is in use, it is subject to the same consent gate described above and is used only to count page views in aggregate. We do not build profiles of individual visitors and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising outside the consent mechanism described here.
5. Legal bases (UK/EU visitors)
- Consent — for advertising and analytics cookies, and any non-essential storage.
- Legitimate interests — for server logs used to keep the site secure and functioning, and for responding to correspondence you initiate.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California and other US states with comparable laws may have rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not knowingly sell personal information. To exercise any right, email hello@vespaiorestaurant.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.
8. International transfers
Our hosting and advertising partners may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
9. Links to other sites
This site links to news articles, restaurants and other third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before providing them with information.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the revised version will be posted here with a new review date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
